ANZAC DAY 2017

Once again the Sub Branch held 5 ANZAC Day Services in 2017 at Corinda (Dawn), Sherwood, Graceville, Indooroopilly and Oxley. Although we did not march at every service this year the services were still very well attended, and supported by community groups and schools.

This year an 'All Conflicts Plaque' to remember and honour the fallen of all Australian conflicts was unveiled at the Dawn, Graceville, Indooroopilly and Oxley ANZAC Day services. Over 3000 people attended the Dawn Service at Corinda and Guest Speaker, Colonel Mark Plath, delivered an excellent speech. Over 1000 people also attended both the Graceville and Indooroopilly services and every service was supported by the Australian Air Force Cadets, 218 Squadron. Services at Sherwood and Oxley continue to grow every year and we look forward to even greater support in 2018.

CORAL BALMORAL DAY 2014

CORAL BALMORAL Day 2016

The annual Vietnam Veterans Day BBQ was held on Saturday the 7th May at the Sub Branch.  It was once again a great day with over 75 veterans enjoying a catch up with old friends.  We look forward to hosting this event again next year. (Unfortunately no photographs are available).

KOKODA DAY 2016

On Sunday the 14th of October The Sherwood Indooroopilly RSL Sub Branch held their annual Kokoda Day Commemoration with nearly 100 people in attendance.  This year the guest speaker was Mrs Mary Holloway who is the daughter of an original 39th Battalion officer.  As he is every year George Palmer attended the event and declared it the best Kokoda Day commemoration to date.

SUB-BRANCH STOMP

2016

The Sherwood Indooroopilly RSL Sub Branch held their first STOMP to raise money for Whiskey’s Wish on Sunday the 24th July 2016.  Over 150 participants walked over 17 km from ANZAC Square to the Sub Branch.  It was a successful day and this will now be an annual event.
